How to Begin
Step 1: Learn more about the Fulbright awards
A. Begin by making sure you meet the eligibility requirements.
B. You will next want to watch these videos from the Fulbright website. The first video offers a general overview of the Fulbright US Student Program, the second considers the Study/Research award, and fourth talks about the English Teaching Assistant award (you can skip the third video for now). All three short videos offer helpful information about the Fulbright.
C. You will also want to explore the Fulbright site. It has a wealth of information about the awards. The drop down menus at the top of the page offer important information about eligibility requirements, award benefits, countries you can apply to, the types of awards you can apply for, and the application components. You may also want to look at the statistics link at the bottom of the page, which lists the statistics from the last three award cycles.
Step 2: Register with the Baylor Fulbright Program Advisors (FPAs)
If you plan to apply during the upcoming award cycle, which will end with you submitting your application on September 3rd, 2024, please complete the following steps. See below for info session and workshop details.
A. Please complete this interest form. We will then reach out to you to help you launch your application process.
B. Attend one of our Fulbright info sessions (see below).
C. After attending an info session, attend workshop designed to help you choose the award and country you are applying for (see below).
D. By March 15th, complete this form declaring your intent to apply for a Fulbright award through Baylor. Once you do this, we will contact you about getting access to our application platform, which includes an application timeline and other helpful resources.
E. Please open a Fulbright application through the portal on the Fulbright website once the application goes live on April 2nd. When you open your application, make sure you list Baylor as your university so that we can see your application on our end in the online portal.
F. Attend one Fulbright essay workshop for the award you are applying for (see below).
G. Submit application by Baylor's internal deadline on September 3rd.
